The death toll from the Russian attack on the capital continues to rise

The death toll from Russian attacks on Kyiv on the night of August 20 has risen to 12, with at least 33 people injured. The Solomyanskyi district of the capital suffered the highest number of casualties. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported this on , according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

“Another wounded person died in the hospital. There are currently 12 fatalities in the capital,” Klitschko wrote.

Rescue workers are currently continuing to deal with the aftermath of the Russian attack in the Svyatoshyn, Solomyansky, and Darnytskyi districts of the capital.

The State Emergency Service emphasized that information regarding the consequences of the attack is still being verified.

In the Darnytskyi district, non-residential buildings and warehouses were damaged.

In the Svyatoshynskyi district, damage to buildings in a non-residential area was reported, and warehouse facilities were also on fire.

In the Solomyanskyi district, the upper floors of a 9-story residential building were destroyed as a result of the attack, and a fire broke out there as well. The fire has already been extinguished. Windows were damaged in four nearby residential buildings.

At another location, a 4-story building caught fire on its upper floors due to falling debris.

In addition, a school and a children’s hospital were damaged in the Solomyanskyi district. Windows were shattered at the hospital, and cars were on fire on its grounds. The fire has been extinguished. Garages in the district were also damaged.

As a result of the attack in the Boryspil district, 14 private homes, 4 warehouse buildings, a gas station, a high-rise building, and 8 cars were damaged.
