Canada has reached an agreement with Ukraine to establish drone production facilities for Ukrainian forces within Canada. This was reported by the defense ministries of both countries, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to the Canadian Department of National Defence, the agreement was signed this week during the CANSEC defense exhibition. It provides for the creation of a new partnership, Airlogix-Sentinel. This involves a joint effort between the Ukrainian defense technology company Airlogix and the Canadian drone manufacturer Sentinel Research and Development.
“With the support of the governments of Canada and Ukraine, this partnership will combine the companies’ expertise to manufacture Ukrainian unmanned aerial systems in Canada for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the ministry explained.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense clarified that as part of the joint project, a production facility for Ukrainian reconnaissance drones will be established in Canada. It is noted that the products will be sent to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The project, implemented with the support of the governments of Ukraine and Canada, will accelerate the delivery of equipment to Ukrainian soldiers for conducting reconnaissance and planning operations,” the ministry reported.
In August 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced agreements reached with Canadian authorities in the defense sector.
“The priority is drones for the front lines, as there is a significant funding shortfall and a need to significantly increase their supply,” he said.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, in turn, noted that UAV production is planned to be located in both Canada and Ukraine.
