Canada has allocated $38 million to Ukraine: what will the funds be spent on

Canada has allocated $38.1 million (52.4 million Canadian dollars) to support Ukraine. This is reported on the website of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The aid includes $10.9 million for:
- support for vulnerable children and youth at risk and reintegration of children abducted by Russia;
- improving access to justice for victims of war crimes;
- raising awareness of families and society about the process of searching for missing persons;
- support for male survivors of wartime sexual violence, including prisoners of war.
In addition, Canada will provide $11.2 million in support of the International Monetary Fund to ensure that Ukraine receives the technical assistance and training necessary for economic reforms and accession to the European Union. The money will also be used to help demine Ukrainian territory.
Among other things, about $14.5 million will be used to restore Ukraine’s energy system.
Another $1.5 million will be allocated by Canada for the safe and reliable operation of nuclear facilities in Ukraine through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also noted that the first four of 50 Canadian-made armoured combat support vehicles have left Ontario and are being delivered to Europe to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Since 2022, Canada has provided more than $19 billion in comprehensive support to Ukraine. This includes more than $12.4 billion in financial assistance that has helped the Ukrainian government continue to operate, including by providing essential public services and pensions to Ukrainians. Other assistance includes more than $4 billion in military aid and equipment donations, $352.5 million in humanitarian aid, $442 million in development assistance, and more than $210 million in security and stabilisation programmes.
Earlier, at the Ramstein meeting, Canada’s Minister of National Defence Bill Blair announced that his country would allocate $2.1 million for the production of drones by the Ukrainian defence industry.
