When Will the Heat Wave End in Ukraine: Forecasters’ Predictions

1 July 16:03

July in Ukraine will start with hot and mostly sunny weather. However, starting on July 2, forecasters predict a drop in temperatures. A cold front will approach the country, gradually easing the heat, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

What will the weather be like in Ukraine on July 1?

The first day of July will be hot in Ukraine. Most regions will see mostly dry and sunny weather, with daytime temperatures reaching +32 degrees. In some areas, temperatures may be even higher, especially in the west and southwest of the country.

Precipitation on July 1 is unlikely across almost all of Ukraine. The exception will be the western part of the country, where brief showers and thunderstorms are possible. In particular, changeable weather is forecast in certain areas of Zakarpattia and Lviv regions.

In Kyiv, sunny and hot weather is expected on July 1. According to forecasts, daytime temperatures will reach approximately +31–33 degrees, with no significant precipitation.

The highest temperatures are expected in the western, central, and parts of the southern regions. In Lviv, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Uzhhorod, temperatures may reach +33–34 degrees. It will also be quite hot in Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia—around +31–33 degrees.

It will be somewhat cooler in the east and northeast of the country: temperatures of approximately +29–31 degrees are forecast for Kharkiv, Sumy, Kramatorsk, and Severodonetsk.

When will the heat wave in Ukraine begin to subside?

Temperatures are expected to drop as early as Thursday, July 2. As meteorologist Natalka Didenko reported on her Facebook page, a cold front will move toward Ukraine. It is this front that will bring the long-awaited relief from the heat.

Western regions will be the first to feel the drop in temperature. However, by July 3 and 4, the cooler air will gradually spread to most regions of Ukraine. At the same time, a sharp drop in temperature is not forecast; rather, temperatures are expected to return to more comfortable levels after a period of intense heat.

In addition, according to Natalka Didenko, the approaching atmospheric front could trigger heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and squalls.
