Microsoft has revised its system requirements for Windows 11 users, who now need more resources for a smooth experience. This was reported by Windows Latest, as cited by "Komersant Ukrainian".
The optimal amount of RAM for a comfortable gaming experience in 2026 is now listed as 32 GB. Configurations with 16 GB retain their entry-level status but no longer guarantee stable performance under modern user scenarios.

The company notes that the increase in requirements is due not only to the growing complexity of the games themselves but also to the increased load from related tasks. The simultaneous use of services such as Discord, browsers, and streaming tools results in significant resource consumption.
Additional load is created by Chromium-based technologies, including WebView2, which are actively used in applications and can consume resources even in the background.
According to Microsoft, upgrading to 32 GB of RAM reduces the likelihood of micro-stuttering and conflicts between concurrently running applications. Thus, increasing RAM capacity is primarily aimed at improving overall system stability, rather than directly boosting frame rates in games.
