Tours to Egypt are getting more expensive: early bookings rose by 10% in April

In April 2026, prices for package tours began to rise. In particular, early-bird bookings to Egypt became 10% more expensive on average. Oleg Kulik, director of the travel agency “Poekhali s Nami,” reported this to Delo.ua, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

Specifically, in March, the company noted price increases for May tours at a number of popular 5-star hotels in Egypt:

  • Rixos Premium Seagate 5* — the price rose from about 130,000 UAH to 135,000 UAH;
  • Jaz Mirabel Resort 5* — the price rose from 100,500 UAH to 134,000 UAH;
  • Concorde El Salam Front Area 5* — prices rose from 106,500 UAH to 108,600 UAH.

Kulik cites the rising cost of airfare due to higher fuel prices as one of the key reasons for the increase in air tour prices. Against the backdrop of the escalating situation in the Strait of Hormuz, oil prices have risen, forcing tour operators to reinstate fuel surcharges, a practice that had effectively not been used in the market for about 15 years.

“For air tours, these surcharges are significant—on average, from 30 to 60 euros per person, depending on the destination and flight duration,” Kulik explained.

Travel companies also note that the price increase is linked to the optimization of charter flight schedules. As a result, the number of so-called “last-minute” flight deals—which traditionally kept prices in check—has decreased.

Demand for tours to Egypt has plummeted again

Against the backdrop of rising prices, demand for tours to Egypt in March–April dropped sharply—by 30–40% compared to February 2026. Overall tourist traffic decreased by approximately 10%, although the market typically shows growth during this period.

“This is completely atypical for the spring season. There should be growth at this time, but this year we are seeing a decline. Egypt has been hit the hardest—down 30–40%,” the expert noted.

The company has not disclosed the exact number of tours sold to Egypt during this period.

In addition, tourists’ preferences for the summer season are changing. According to Kulyk, more and more Ukrainians are opting out of air travel in favor of cheaper bus trips.
