The Ministry of Education and Science has set the school calendar for the 2026–2027 school year: key dates

The new 2026–2027 school year in secondary schools under martial law will begin, as usual, on September 1, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced on social media, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
“Regional and Kyiv City military administrations, together with the founders of educational institutions, will determine how to begin the school year in each community, taking into account security concerns in the region. This will allow communities to flexibly organize the educational process in accordance with security conditions, while ensuring the continuity of education,” Svyrydenko wrote.
The school year will last until June 30, 2027; however, the actual date of the last day of classes, the last bell ceremony, and the duration of summer vacation will be determined by the educational institutions themselves. These will be determined by the pedagogical council, taking into account the security situation and the needs of those involved in the educational process.
For this reason, the dates for the end of the school year and the summer break may vary from school to school, the prime minister explained.
