Law enforcement officers detained an official of the central MSEC while receiving a bribe. The deputy head of the commission assisted in obtaining a group II disability, which gave men grounds to be deregistered from the military. For this service, she asked for a “reward” of two thousand dollars. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the National Police and the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the investigation, the deputy chief physician promised to assist a citizen liable for military service in obtaining a second disability group in exchange for USD 2,000. This would provide grounds for removing him from the military register. She convinced the man that it was not the first time she had solved such “issues” and knew how to do it.

Law enforcement officers detained the official while she was receiving the money.

During the searches, they seized almost $20,000, disability documents, medical records, personal files, and other evidence of the crimes.

The National Police investigators served the suspect a notice of suspicion for accepting an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit for herself or a third party for influencing the decision-making of a person authorized to perform the functions of the state or local self-government, combined with extortion of such benefit (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

She faces up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.

The suspect is currently being held in custody as a preventive measure.

Earlier it was reported that all medical and social commissions in Ukraine would cease to function by December 31, 2024. This became possible because the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy put into effect the relevant decision of the National Security and Defense Council.

As a reminder, on October 5, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation detained and notified the head of the Khmelnytsky Regional Center for Medical and Social Expertise of suspicion of illicit enrichment.

Prior to that, on October 3 and 4, law enforcement officers conducted a series of searches in the official’s offices and at the place of residence of the official and her close relatives.

The head of the MSEC was found to have $100,000 in her office, as well as a number of forged medical documents, lists of “evaders” with fake names and fake diagnoses.

At the home of the official and her relatives, SBI officers found almost $5 million 244 thousand, 300 thousand euros, more than UAH 5 million, branded jewelry and jewelry.
