The most popular used cars from abroad: what Ukrainians chose in September

In September 2025, the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with more than 23.3 thousand used cars imported from abroad. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Ukravtoprom.
Compared to September last year, this is 37% more, and compared to August, the growth was another 3%.
What fuel is most often chosen
Gasoline models are the most popular among imported used cars. They accounted for 45% of all registrations. Other engine types were distributed as follows:
- Electric cars – 29%
- Diesel cars – 18%
- Hybrids – 5%
- Autos with LPG – 3%
Average age of a car
The average age of used cars that received Ukrainian license plates in September is 8.4 years. This indicates that Ukrainians choose relatively fresh and technically reliable cars.
Top 10 most popular models
Volkswagen Golf once again became the leader among used cars from abroad. In September, 1133 such cars were registered.
Here’s what the top ten looks like:
1️⃣ Volkswagen Golf – 1133 pcs.
2️⃣ Tesla Model Y – 929 units
3️⃣ Tesla Model 3 – 738 units.
4️⃣ Volkswagen Tiguan – 692 units
5️⃣ Renault Megane – 671 units.
6️⃣ Nissan Leaf – 651 pcs.
7️⃣ Skoda Octavia – 644 pcs.
8️⃣ Audi Q5 – 630 pcs.
9️⃣ Nissan Rogue – 526 pcs.
🔟 Kia Niro – 495 units.
Interestingly, there are three electric cars in the ranking at once: Tesla Model Y, Model 3, and Nissan Leaf, which indicates the growing popularity of eco-friendly vehicles among Ukrainians.
Overall picture for the year
Since the beginning of 2025, Ukrainians have imported 181.8 thousand used cars from abroad. This is 3% more than in the same period in 2024.
