New Sanctions Against Russia: The EU Responds to the Kremlin’s Massive Attacks on Ukraine

On August 7, the European Union approved new sanctions lists against Russia, thereby responding to the escalation of terror against Ukraine.
This statement was made by the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, according to "Komersant Ukrainian", citing her post on X.
As Kallas explained, every new Russian attack on Ukraine is yet another reason for Europe to increase pressure on Russia.
She also confirmed that five individuals have been added to the new sanctions lists this time.
“In response to the recent series of Russian airstrikes, the EU has introduced new sanctions lists targeting five individuals involved in the Russian military-industrial complex,” the diplomat stated.
According to the head of European diplomacy, they are directly linked to the Russian military-industrial complex.

Callas also noted that the escalation of Russian terror is occurring solely because dictator Vladimir Putin is unable to achieve any significant success on the battlefield.
“Since its army is stuck on the battlefield, Moscow is further intensifying its campaign of terror against the civilian population. The EU must continue to increase pressure on Russia until Moscow ends the war,” concluded Kaja Kallas.
As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated that Russian ballistic missile manufacturers are still not subject to sanctions.
According to him, of the 17 leading Russian factories involved in the production of ballistic missiles, most continue to exploit loopholes in the legislation of allied nations. Certain enterprises in Russia’s defense-industrial complex have avoided restrictions imposed by the U.S., the U.K., Japan, or Switzerland.
Earlier, on July 23, the Council of the European Union finally adopted a new package of sanctions against Russia. It was immediately described as the most powerful in the last four years. The European Union’s new sanctions will significantly increase pressure on Russia’s military economy. As a result, the aggressor’s “shadow fleet” will face quite serious problems.
