Shelling and severe weather have disrupted the power grid: 12 regions are already without power

The electricity supply situation in Ukraine has worsened. As of the morning of August 7, consumers in 12 regions remain without power. This is due to both adverse weather conditions and the effects of Russian shelling of energy infrastructure.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy.
118 settlements are without power due to inclement weather
According to the Ministry of Energy, 118 settlements in seven regions of Ukraine remain without power due to strong winds, rain, and other adverse weather conditions.
These include:
- Zhytomyr;
- Zakarpattia;
- Kirovohrad;
- Ternopil;
- Khmelnytskyi;
- Cherkasy;
- Chernivtsi regions.

Five more regions have been affected by Russian attacks
In addition to weather-related factors, power outages persist in regions that regularly suffer from Russian shelling.
Consumers in the following regions remain partially without power:
- Dnipropetrovsk;
- Donetsk;
- Sumy;
- Kharkiv;
- Kherson regions.
The Ministry of Energy notes that emergency repair work is ongoing wherever the security situation allows.
Will there be power outage schedules?
Despite the increase in the number of settlements without power, as of August 7, no power rationing schedules are expected for consumers.
At the same time, Ukrainians are urged to use electricity sparingly, especially during peak hours.
The Ministry of Energy recommends, whenever possible, postponing the use of energy-intensive appliances to other times and conserving electricity between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. to reduce the load on the power grid.
The situation remains tense
The day before, on August 6, power supply issues caused by Russian strikes were reported in five regions of Ukraine.
After the storm passed, the number of regions experiencing power outages rose to 12.
Utility officials emphasize that repair crews are working around the clock to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible.
