The listing notes that part of the premises is already being leased. Specifically, there is a café operating on the front of the building and a restaurant at the rear.

“The building is ideal for conversion into a hotel, club, restaurant, or entertainment complex. A hotel design is already available,” the listing states.

The “Kinopanorama” movie theater opened in 1958. It was the first panoramic movie theater in the USSR. The building housed a large auditorium with 405 seats and a small one with 30 seats.

On October 1, 2018, the cinema ceased operations. At the time, it was reported that it had been closed for major renovations, which had not been carried out since its opening.

Later, the building’s owner, Mohammad Zahur, representing the ISTIL Group, announced his intention to demolish the cinema and build a hotel in its place. According to him, the new building was planned to include a small movie theater and a conference hall.

In 2020, the former director of “Kinopanorama,” Natalia Soboleva published an open letter to the owner, in which she stated that no work had begun in the two years since the cinema’s closure and called for clarification on the future of the historic building.
