The GORO Mountain Resort, currently under construction by the OKKO Group, has made significant progress following the signing of a contract with the international company DEMACLENKO.

GORO Mountain Resort announced this on Facebook, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

It is reported that the contract provides for the creation of an automated artificial snowmaking system, which will ensure consistent ski slope quality and a predictable winter season.

Key features of the system

The system will allow for 100% snow coverage of the resort’s first-phase slopes and support a ski season lasting over 100 days.

As noted by GORO Mountain Resort CEO Volodymyr Garazd:

“The partnership with DEMACLENKO allows us to implement solutions and approaches that have already proven their effectiveness at leading international resorts.”

The system was designed taking into account climatic conditions, slope parameters, water sources, and environmental requirements. The final contract for the supply of equipment was signed in May 2026, and the collaboration between GORO and DEMACLENKO has been ongoing since 2018.

Project Scale

Investments in the artificial snowmaking system amount to 25 million euros out of a total of 120 million euros allocated for the first phase of mountain infrastructure. OKKO Group is financing the project using its own and borrowed funds. The total cost of the first phase is estimated at 470 million euros.

The system will cover 50 hectares of ski trails with a total length of 13 km. Over 150 snow guns and more than 180 connection points will be installed. Implementation has been divided into two phases: the first 17 hectares will be completed in 2026, and the remainder in 2027.

The equipment will be integrated with the SnowVisual control system. This will allow for centralized, real-time management of the snowmaking process and optimize water and energy usage.

The project also includes the construction of pumping stations, water cooling systems, and pipeline infrastructure.

DEMACLENKO President and CEO Andreas Lambacher emphasized that GORO Mountain Resort is one of the largest contracts in the company’s history:

“We are very proud to contribute to the success of this promising project thanks to our many years of international experience.”

GORO Mountain Resort is an all-season mountain resort that OKKO Group has been building since October 2024 in the Slavska community of Lviv Oblast.

The first phase includes 127 hectares with 10 ski slopes, a snowmaking system, a gondola and two chairlifts, a Welcome Center and a Mountain Center, as well as five hotels with over 1,100 rooms.

The resort is scheduled to open in 2027, and the hotel complexes in the summer of 2028. The resort will be able to accommodate up to 5,000 skiers at a time and a total of up to 1 million visitors per year.

The total investment in the project is estimated at approximately $1.5 billion.
