Weather in Ukraine on May 21: Most regions will see rain and thunderstorms

On Thursday, May 21, most regions of Ukraine are expected to experience unsettled weather with brief showers and thunderstorms. This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
At the same time, temperatures will remain summer-like—in some places, thermometers will rise to 31°C.
Where will there be rain and thunderstorms on May 21?
According to the forecast, rain is expected overnight in:
- the western regions;
- southern regions;
- Vinnytsia region;
- Zhytomyr region;
- Kyiv region.
During the day, the precipitation zone will expand. Short-lived rains with thunderstorms are forecast for most regions of Ukraine.
According to the preliminary forecast, only the northeastern part of the country will see no significant precipitation.
Where hail and squalls are possible
Weather conditions may be hazardous in some regions. Heavy rain, hail, and squalls of 15–20 m/s are forecast in some areas.
Adverse weather is possible in the following regions:
- southern regions;
- Dnipropetrovsk region;
- Vinnytsia region;
- Chernivtsi region;
- Ternopil region;
- Khmelnytskyi region;
- Rivne Oblast;
- Zhytomyr Oblast.
During thunderstorms, meteorologists advise people to be careful outdoors and avoid standing near trees, billboards, and power lines.

Despite the rain, it will be warm in Ukraine.

Weather in Kyiv and the Kyiv region
Unstable weather is also expected in Kyiv and the Kyiv region on May 21.
Forecasters predict:
- short-lived showers in some areas;
- thunderstorms;
- a northeast wind of 5–10 m/s.
Temperatures in the region will range from 12–17°C at night and 23–28°C during the day .
In Kyiv, temperatures are expected to be 12–17° at night and 25–27° during the day .
