Ukraine’s trade volume exceeded $70 billion in the first half of the year: The State Customs Service of Ukraine reported which countries received the most exports

In the first six months of 2026, Ukraine’s trade volume totaled $70.3 billion: the country exported $21 billion worth of goods and imported $34.6 billion worth.
This information was provided by the State Customs Service of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
From January through June 2026, Ukraine imported goods worth $49.3 billion and exported goods worth $21 billion.

“At the same time, taxable imports amounted to $34.6 billion, accounting for 70% of the total volume of imported goods,” the State Customs Service of Ukraine noted.
The tax burden per kilogram of taxable imports in January–June 2026 was $0.58/kg.
The following countries were the largest suppliers of goods to Ukraine:
- China ($13.9 billion),
- Poland ($4.7 billion), and
- Germany ($3.2 billion).
Traditionally, the largest exports from Ukraine went to:
- Poland ($2.4 billion),
- Turkey ($1.8 billion),
- Italy ($1.3 billion).
“Of the total volume of goods imported in January–June 2026, 72% consisted of machinery, equipment, and transportation vehicles—$21.3 billion. During customs clearance of these goods, 120.6 billion UAH was paid to the budget, accounting for 28% of customs revenue,” the statement reads.
Customs also notes fuel and energy products—$7.4 billion. Upon customs clearance of these goods, 148.3 billion UAH was paid to the budget, accounting for 34% of customs revenue.
The State Customs Service of Ukraine also highlights chemical industry products—$6.9 billion. UAH 56.8 billion was paid to the budget, accounting for 13% of customs revenue.
“The top three goods exported from Ukraine were food products ($12.5 billion), metals and metal products ($2.2 billion), and machinery, equipment, and transportation vehicles ($1.8 billion),” the statement reads.
In January–June 2026, 802.3 million hryvnias were paid to the budget during customs clearance of exports subject to export duties.

As a reminder, the State Customs Service previously reported that Ukraine’s trade turnover for the first four months of 2026 totaled $46.1 billion: from January through March 2026, Ukraine imported goods worth 32.2 billion and exported goods worth 13.9 billion.
At the same time, taxable imports amounted to $22.3 billion, accounting for 69% of the total volume of imported goods.
The tax burden per kilogram of taxable imports in January–April 2026 was $0.55/kg.
The top countries from which Ukraine imported goods were: China ($8.7 billion), Poland ($3.1 billion), and Turkey ($2.2 billion).
Ukraine’s largest export destinations were Poland ($1.5 billion), Turkey ($1.2 billion), and Italy ($857 million).
Of the total volume of goods imported in January–April 2026, 72% consisted of the following categories: machinery, equipment, and transportation—$13.3 billion. During customs clearance of these goods, 74.3 billion UAH was paid to the budget, accounting for 26% of customs revenue.
Fuel and energy products – $5.3 billion. Upon customs clearance of these goods, 103.5 billion UAH was paid to the budget, accounting for 36% of customs revenue.
Chemical industry products – $4.6 billion; 38.4 billion UAH was paid to the budget, accounting for 14% of customs revenue.
The top three goods exported from Ukraine were food products ($8.5 billion), metals and metal products ($1.3 billion), and machinery, equipment, and transportation vehicles ($1.2 billion).
In January–April 2026, 585.9 million UAH was paid to the budget during customs clearance of exports of goods subject to export duties.
