Russia struck Odesa with cluster munitions: 10 people wounded and a fire at a factory

On the evening of July 7, Russian occupation forces launched a ballistic missile strike on Odesa. According to local authorities, the occupiers used a missile with a cluster warhead for the attack. This was reported by Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian"

The number of casualties has risen to 10

According to updated information from the Odesa Regional Military Administration, 10 people were injured as a result of the Russian attack.

Three of the wounded are women. Eight of the injured were hospitalized. Medical personnel diagnosed them primarily with shrapnel and laceration wounds.

The rest received the necessary medical care on the spot.

Russia used a cluster ballistic missile

According to Oleg Kipper, the Russian army used a ballistic missile with a cluster warhead for the strike.

This type of munition poses a particular danger to the civilian population, as it scatters a large number of submunitions over a wide area upon detonation.

A fire broke out on the premises of a manufacturing facility

As a result of the strike, a building on the grounds of one of Odesa’s industrial facilities caught fire.

In addition, vehicles parked near the impact site were damaged and engulfed in flames. Rescue workers were on the scene and quickly extinguished the fire.

Cleanup efforts are ongoing

As of the night of July 8, work to address the aftermath of the shelling was still underway in Odesa.

Emergency services continue to survey the area, assess the extent of the damage, and provide assistance to those affected. Information regarding damaged facilities and the number of casualties is subject to change.
