Russians attacked an equestrian school in the Sumy region with a drone: horses were killed

On the night of June 17, a Russian drone attacked the grounds of an equestrian school in the Sumy region. The strike hit the stables, killing several horses. This was reported by Oleg Grigorov, head of the regional military administration, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

According to preliminary information, no employees of the facility were injured.

What is known about the attack

Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, stated that Russian occupation forces struck a civilian facility where children—students of the equestrian sports school—trained daily.

“The Russians deliberately struck a civilian facility where children—students of the school—were training every day,” Grigorov said.

The drone strike hit the stables. The attack killed horses and damaged the building.

Are there any human casualties?

According to preliminary reports, no employees of the equestrian school were injured.

At the same time, the consequences of the strike for the facility were significant. Part of the building was damaged, and the animals in the stable were killed.

Relevant emergency services were on the scene, documenting the aftermath of the attack and assessing the extent of the damage.

Drone Struck Stables

According to local authorities and media reports, the drone struck the stables directly. The impact caused part of the wall to collapse, and the roof and building structures were also damaged.

According to updated reports, three horses were killed in the attack.

The fire at the site of the strike was contained. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

A delivery branch was also attacked in Sumy

Serhiy Kryvosheyenko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration, reported that Russian drones also struck a delivery branch.

According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties as a result of this attack.

Fires at the impact sites have been contained, and the consequences of the strikes are still being assessed.

The Situation in Sumy Oblast Over the Past 24 Hours

According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, from the morning of June 16 to the morning of June 17, Russian forces carried out 55 attacks on 24 settlements in 12 communities across the region.

The highest number of strikes was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts. The enemy used artillery, FPV drones, unmanned aerial vehicles, and guided aerial bombs.

As a result of the attacks, residential buildings, farm structures, vehicles, and civilian infrastructure were damaged in communities across the region.

There are civilian casualties

Over the past 24 hours, seven people were injured in the Sumy region as a result of Russian shelling.

Three residents of the Bilopil community were injured when a drone struck near a car. Four residents of the Trostyanets community were also injured, including an 11-year-old girl.

In addition, a 70-year-old man sought medical attention after being injured during a drone attack in the Seredyna-Budsk community on the night of June 15.

Evacuation from Border Communities

Due to constant Russian attacks, the evacuation of residents from border communities in the Sumy region is ongoing.

Over the past 24 hours, 51 people were evacuated from dangerous areas. The air raid alert in the region lasted 17 hours and 30 minutes.

Why Sumy Oblast Is Under Constant Attack

The Sumy region borders Russia, so the region’s border communities are subjected to shelling almost daily. Russian troops are attacking both populated areas and civilian infrastructure.

Residential buildings, farm structures, vehicles, businesses, and educational and sports facilities are all coming under fire.
