What are the charges?
Based on materials from the State Bureau of Investigations and evidence gathered independently, the prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit seeking to have the assets used by the family declared unjustified.
“This concerns a garden house with a total area of 145.4 square meters and a land plot of 0.0686 hectares in the suburbs of Kyiv,” the prosecutor’s office stated in a press release.
The value of these assets on the date of acquisition was 2,834,209 UAH, but the minimum market value today is 5,460,000 UAH. The case also mentions a 2017 BMW X5 worth 950,000 UAH, which is registered in the name of the official’s son but, according to the prosecutor’s office, is used by Mikheev himself.
An analysis of the official’s and his family members’ income and expenses confirmed that it was impossible to acquire these assets using legitimate income. This fact served as the basis for the SAPO prosecutor’s appeal to the High Anti-Corruption Court seeking the forfeiture of the assets to the state. The court imposed a seizure on this property as a measure to secure the claim.
