For the third week in a row: Cucumber prices are falling in Ukraine
2 May 08:17
Prices for greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine have been falling for the third consecutive week, according to analysts from the EastFruit project, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
Key market players attribute the current situation to a seasonal increase in the supply of fresh vegetables from domestic producers, as well as slow sales.

Local wholesale companies and retail chains are purchasing cucumbers primarily for immediate sale, given the relatively short shelf life of this product.
As of today, Ukrainian greenhouse complexes are offering available volumes of cucumbers at prices of 40–70 UAH/kg ($0.91–1.59/kg), which is on average 22% lower than at the end of last week.
Producers are forced to lower their selling prices again due to increased cucumber supply in the market amid subdued demand in this segment. According to market participants, the arrival of warm weather in Ukraine has significantly accelerated the ripening of cucumbers in local greenhouse farms. Additionally, the growing supply of produce from plastic-covered greenhouses is putting further pressure on the market.
At the same time , greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine are already being offered for sale at prices nearly identical to those during the same period last year.
