The White House criticizes the choice of the Nobel Peace Prize winner

The White House has called the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to non-U.S. President Donald Trump a political decision. Stephen Chang, the Trump administration’s communications director, wrote about this on his page on the social network X, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“The Nobel Committee has proved that it puts politics above peace,” the official said.

He added that Trump would continue to “save lives,” “end wars” and “make peace deals.”

on October 10, the Nobel Committee announced a peace prize for Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado for “her tireless work to defend the democratic rights of the Venezuelan people and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.”

Trump was one of the contenders for the award, but bookmakers estimated his chances at 3%. Since returning to the White House, the politician has repeatedly spoken about his desire to win the award, and therefore has made efforts to become a peacemaker.
