The Kyiv Regional State Administration has a new head: The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the personnel decision

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the appointment of Timur Tkachenko as head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration (KRMA). This was announced by Taras Melnychuk, the government’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
“The appointment of Timur Firuddinovich Tkachenko as head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration has been approved,” the statement reads.
Who is Timur Tkachenko?
Prior to this new appointment, Timur Tkachenko headed the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA).
On July 16, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed him from this position following personnel changes in the government.
Prior to his work at the KMVA, Tkachenko served as Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine and worked in the field of public administration and regional development.
Timur Tkachenko was appointed head of the Kyiv City Military Administration on December 31, 2024.

He succeeded Colonel General Serhiy Popko, who had headed the KMVA since October 2022.
During Tkachenko’s tenure, the KMMA’s activities focused on ensuring the capital’s defense, coordinating critical infrastructure operations, addressing the aftermath of Russian attacks, and collaborating with military and civilian services.
Why the Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration Changed
The previous head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, stepped down following his appointment to the new Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
He became head of the Ministry of Community, Territorial, and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, which is responsible for implementing state policy in the areas of regional development, national reconstruction, transportation, and housing and utilities.
