Russia bombed a factory producing a well-known brand of potato chips and crackers in Pavlohrad

On July 23, Russian occupation forces carried out an airstrike on Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Three explosions were heard on the grounds of and near a large industrial complex housing the “Club Chips” and “Snack Production” companies, which are affiliated with the Star Brands group. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing a statement by Star Brands on Facebook.
As a result of the attack, the production facilities sustained serious damage, and a fire broke out. Three people were killed, and at least 28 others were injured. Among the victims were factory workers, employees of contracting organizations, and residents of Pavlohrad.
KABs struck the Star Brands production complex
According to preliminary information from the company, four powerful explosions were heard during the attack in Pavlohrad. Three of them occurred at the production complex and the surrounding area.
The following partner companies of the Star Brands Group operate at the site:
- Club Chips LLC;
- Snack Production LLC.
These companies manufacture products under well-known Ukrainian brands such as Flint, Chipster’s, Big Bob, “San Sanich,” “Morski,” and others.
“According to preliminary information, the city suffered several powerful strikes. Eyewitnesses report four explosions, three of which struck the production complex and the surrounding areas,” Star Brands reported.
The company clarified that the facilities sustained serious damage and destruction. The final extent of the damage is still being determined. Experts are assessing the condition of the production facilities and identifying priority measures to restore the complex’s operations.
Three people were killed, and 28 were injured
Three people were killed as a result of the Russian strike on Pavlohrad. The number of casualties has risen to 28.
Three of the injured are in intensive care in serious condition. A two-year-old child is also among the injured. All those injured are receiving medical care.
Star Brands noted that the injured include:
- production workers;
- employees of contracting companies;
- Pavlohrad residents who were outside the complex.
“The most painful loss is the loss of human life, and guided aerial bombs are a terrifying weapon and a new threat to Pavlohrad, which has been feeling the effects of powerful strikes from these bombs for several days now,” the company stated.
Star Brands pledged to provide the necessary assistance to affected employees and to support the families of their deceased colleagues.
Shelters had been set up at the facility
The company emphasized that both stationary and mobile shelters have been set up on the production complex’s grounds.
They are located in various parts of the facility so that employees can evacuate quickly during an air raid alert. However, due to the intensity of the strikes this time, it was not possible to completely avoid casualties.
“Unfortunately, despite all available protective measures, we were unable to avoid casualties this time,” Star Brands reported.
A fire broke out on the plant’s premises following the strike. Rescue workers and other emergency services were called in to deal with the aftermath.

What Snacks Are Produced at the Facilities
The Star Brands Group of Companies operates in the production, distribution, and logistics of food products.
Its affiliated companies include Snack Production—one of Ukraine’s largest snack manufacturers.
The group’s well-known brands include:
- Flint;
- Chipster’s;
- Big Bob;
- “San Sanich”;
- “Morski”;
- Crispy Cris;
- Hroom.
The companies also produce other food products under the brands “Khutorok,” La Pasta, “Zolotyi Vrozhai,” and Zeffir.
It is not yet known whether the damage to the complex will lead to disruptions in production or product delivery. Star Brands reported that it is assessing the possibility of resuming production.
This is not the first time Russia has attacked Star Brands facilities
This is not the first Russian strike on the group’s production and warehouse infrastructure.
On the night of April 6, 2026, Russian drones attacked a Star Brands warehouse in Pavlohrad, where raw materials and finished products from “Snack Production” and “Club Chips” were stored.
A direct hit caused a fire, and approximately 5,500 square meters of warehouse space sustained serious damage. Employees managed to take cover in time, so there were no fatalities.
Russian troops had previously attacked the company’s facilities as well:
- in April 2025, two drones struck the main finished goods warehouse in the Synelnykivskyi district;
- in November 2025, a warehouse complex covering an area of approximately 11,000 square meters in Pavlohrad was destroyed;
- on April 7, 2026, a strike destroyed another part of the warehouse infrastructure.
Following the previous attacks, the company began diversifying its warehouse network and redistributing its logistics flows. However, the strike on July 23 directly targeted a large production complex.
Guided bombs became a new threat to Pavlohrad
The July 23 attack was not the first time Russian forces had used guided aerial bombs against Pavlohrad.
On July 20, the city was struck by KABs for the first time. Residential buildings were damaged, and 11 people, including a 13-year-old child, were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
Three days later, Russian forces again used guided aerial bombs, this time striking the grounds of a food processing plant.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that on July 23, Russia carried out airstrikes not only on Pavlohrad but also on Kherson. Critical infrastructure in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, as well as facilities in the Odesa region, were also attacked.
