Ukraine’s woodworking industry has increased exports: Which companies have emerged as leaders?

In 2025, the Ukrainian woodworking industry exported 8.7 billion hryvnia worth of products, demonstrating steady growth and high profitability among companies.

This is according to a study by YC.Market, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian"

Analysts note that the woodworking industry has the widest range of export products among the industrial sectors studied—from firewood to finished construction products.

The simplest product is firewood (UKT ZED code 4401), which is used for energy purposes. The main importers remain:

  • Romania;
  • Germany;
  • Poland;
  • Denmark;
  • Italy;
  • Greece.

Semi-finished products include processed timber (UKT ZED code 4407)—boards and beams used in construction and the furniture industry.

Ukraine exports these to:

  • Turkey;
  • Poland;
  • Moldova;
  • Hungary;
  • Romania;
  • Germany;
  • Belgium;
  • Czech Republic;
  • Italy;
  • the Baltic states.

Plywood, doors, and parquet flooring are in the highest demand

Products with the highest added value include:

  • plywood;
  • wood panels;
  • milled lumber;
  • doors;
  • windows;
  • parquet flooring;
  • baseboards;
  • door casings;
  • other woodworking and carpentry products.

Ukrainian plywood is purchased most frequently by:

  • Poland;
  • the Netherlands;
  • Lithuania;
  • the Czech Republic;
  • Romania;
  • Germany;
  • Italy;
  • Slovakia;
  • Austria.

Wooden construction products are exported to Poland, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Italy, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and the Baltic states.

Who Became the Largest Exporter

According to the study, Ukraine’s ten largest woodworking companies exported products worth 8.7 billion hryvnias.

The leaders were:

  • Barlinek Invest LLC — 1.9 billion hryvnias in exports (21.2% of the market);
  • Odek Ukraine LLC — 1.6 billion hryvnia;
  • Rezalt Ukraine LLC — 1.2 billion UAH.

Analysts note that the woodworking sector lags behind the metallurgy sector in terms of export volume but demonstrates a more even distribution among companies.
