Ukrainian defense companies presented their technological solutions to soldiers of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Forces. The use of innovations in combat conditions was the central theme of the “MilTech Innovations” event, organized by the 7th Airborne Corps and the Council of Arms Manufacturers in Kyiv. Reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

The program included networking between manufacturers and corps paratroopers, as well as presentations of modern weaponry from 35 manufacturers.

Companies showcased new models of FPV drones, combat ground robotic systems, electronic warfare (EW) technologies, and other modern solutions. The event also featured panel discussions on the synergy between UAVs and EW for technological advantage, building an effective feedback system, and the challenges of deploying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

According to Ihor Bohdan, head of the Center for Innovation and Technology of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Airborne Forces, the event helped bring technology companies together in one place.

“The guys exchanged experiences on application with manufacturers. We found common ground. We will continue to develop and scale up, implementing innovations and technologies in the 7th Corps of the Airborne Forces,” he emphasized.

“The 7th Corps of the Airborne Forces’ teams are rapidly implementing innovations through their own R&D centers, repair shops, and close cooperation with developers,” added Major Denys Polyachenko, head of the 7th Corps of the Airborne Forces’ Logistics Department.

Oleksandr Kamyshin, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Gunsmiths Council, emphasized the importance of meetings between developers and representatives of combat units.

“The most valuable feedback for a manufacturer today comes from the front lines. The manufacturer must understand the real needs of the units: what works, what needs to be changed, and what can be scaled up right now. It is precisely through this direct interaction between the military and industry that solutions are born that provide an advantage on the battlefield. “I would like to thank Brigadier General Yevhen Lasiychuk for this excellent initiative to organize such an event,” said Oleksandr Kamyshin.

Representatives of defense companies emphasize that feedback from the military is crucial for them to quickly improve their designs. Yuriy Poritsky, the owner of one of the companies participating in the forum, is convinced that new weapon prototypes need to be tested as early as the unit’s training phase.

“Every unit has its own specific characteristics, so it is very difficult to create a universal solution that will suit everyone equally. That is why, when developing and improving our products, we take into account the requests and needs of the military personnel who use our equipment. In addition to constantly gathering feedback, it is important for us to understand what functions and types of weapons will be needed for future missions so that we can incorporate these improvements during the development or update phase,” noted Yuriy Poritsky.

During the event, one of the largest manufacturers of FPV drones, “General Chereshnya,” emphasized: it is the military that shapes the demand for technology today, as they best understand the needs of the front lines. The 7th Corps stated that the corps system allows for faster consolidation of combat experience and the implementation of innovations without unnecessary bureaucracy.
