Ukrainians are buying fewer new cars: which brands are in demand

Over the past month, Ukrainians purchased approximately 5,500 new passenger cars. This is 18% less than in May 2025. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing “Ukravtoprom. “

Compared to April 2026, demand for new cars decreased by 11%.

Toyota was the most popular brand of the month , with sales falling by 29% compared to May of last year.

Top brands in May

The top ten brands for May 2026 included the following:

1. Toyota – 745 units (-29%);
2. Skoda – 516 units (9%);
3. Renault – 485 units (-19%);
4. Volkswagen – 380 units (-38%);
5. BMW – 320 units (-1%);
6. BYD – 312 units (-18%);
7. Hyundai – 301 units (-13%);
8. Mazda – 283 units (-5%);
9. Nissan – 238 units (18%);
10. Audi – 181 units (-28%).

According to data from “Ukravtoprom,” a total of 27,000 new passenger cars have been sold in the country since the beginning of the year, which is only half a percent more than during the same period last year.
