“Ukrzaliznytsia” is launching new regional electric trains between the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions: when and how they will run

“Ukrzaliznytsia” has added four regional trains to the Kyiv–Korosten route and back, thereby ensuring stops at all stations with the highest passenger traffic, including Chopovychi, Shchebzavod, Vorzel, and Lisova Bucha, according to a company statement, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
“Ukrzaliznytsia continues a major modernization of its commuter trains using its own resources—and for the fourth time this year, we are experimentally equipping them with air conditioning systems,” Ukrzaliznytsia wrote.

The new trains will run according to the following schedule:
- No. 856 Korosten (05:07) – Kyiv (07:42),
- No. 855 Kyiv (09:20) – Korosten (12:15),
- No. 860 Korosten (1:40 p.m.) – Kyiv (4:23 p.m.),
- No. 859 Kyiv (5:30 p.m.) – Korosten (8:13 p.m.).
In addition, two commuter services between Malyn and Kyiv (and back) have been launched on this route.
Ukrzaliznytsia noted that, in total, the 54th comprehensively modernized electric train has entered service since the start of the full-scale invasion.

As previously reported, Ukrzaliznytsia has signed a contract for the manufacture of another 92 new passenger cars, 83 of which will be compartment cars capable of operating in both compartment and open-seating formats, while the remaining nine will feature barrier-free compartments.
The cost of a single compartment car is 68 million hryvnias, and that of a car with an accessible compartment is 72 million hryvnias; the purchase will be funded by the state budget.
In total, Ukrzaliznytsia has contracted for 358 new passenger cars, 187 of which are already carrying passengers.
