Carrot prices continue to rise in Ukraine: key factors

18 April 22:12

Carrot prices on the Ukrainian market have been rising for the third consecutive week. According to analysts at EastFruit, the supply of medium- and high-quality carrots in Ukraine is rapidly shrinking, reports "Komersant Ukrainian".

Against this backdrop, producers of this product continue to actively raise selling prices for available volumes. As of today, carrots are selling for 7–14 UAH/kg ($0.16–0.32/kg), which is on average 13% more expensive than at the end of last week. At the same time, it is becoming increasingly difficult to purchase large batches of high-quality root vegetables on the Ukrainian market.

At the same time, current carrot prices in Ukraine remain 65% lower than during the corresponding period last year. Most market participants agree that the upward price trend in this segment will continue.
