The government has explained the reasons for the delay in child benefits: what is known

Ukrainians who submitted their applications back in January and February have still not received their childbirth benefits. The reason is a technical error. According to RBC-Ukraine, Social Policy Minister Denis Ulyutin made this statement during question time in parliament, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

“We are working very closely on such cases. Yesterday, the January payments were literally processed and paid out. There was a technical error, and essentially, when the accounts were opened, the error occurred specifically in this part. Yesterday, this was ‘fixed,’ and the payments were transferred to Oschadbank. They will be distributed to the accounts in the near future,” said Ulyutin.

According to him, overall, the program has proven effective. In April alone, 1.3 billion hryvnias were spent on the program for payments up to one year, and 78 million hryvnias on “eYaslam.”

The minister noted that a decree regarding the program and the terms for using the funds has been drafted, and all necessary approval procedures have been completed.

“In the near future, we will be able to approve it at the Cabinet of Ministers and make it possible, first, to universalize the card for all payments related specifically to child benefits, starting with payments for children under one year of age, ‘eYasla,’ ‘Baby Package,’ ‘Schoolchild Package,’ all of which will be managed through a single card,” Ulyutin added.

In addition, he said, the Ministry of Social Policy is also working with the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

“A digital solution is currently being finalized; the process took time because we were seeking funding—non-budgetary funding—to complete this solution. We are currently finishing testing, and we believe that by May we will be ready to launch a fully digital product for electronic submission via ‘Diyu,'” the minister said.

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, in turn, assured that everyone legally entitled to payments will receive them.

“We are working to improve the system and provide more opportunities to submit these applications, but everyone will receive these funds. Just so you understand, we are working on this,” she noted.

Child Benefits

As a reminder, in March, Ukrainians began receiving payments under the “eYasla” program and for childcare for children under 1 year of age. Parents of young children need a corresponding account for this.
