Dmitry Govseev, director of the Perinatal Center in Kyiv, told the touching story of the birth of a boy named Nazar, whose mother died from burns sustained during another nighttime Russian attack on Kyiv, writes "Komersant Ukrainian".

After one of the rocket strikes, a pregnant woman with burns covering 80% of her body was hospitalized at the Perinatal Center. Doctors had to perform an emergency C-section to save the baby. That is how Nazar was born.

Nazar was transferred to the Perinatal Center, where he spent the first two months of his life. According to the doctor, even though they were on different sides of Kyiv, the mother and child remained connected — when the woman’s condition worsened, it affected the baby.

Unfortunately, the mother died two weeks later. She never got to see her son.

Today, Nazar is growing up with his father and continues to be monitored by doctors. At the center, he is called the favorite of the team—each of his visits is greeted as if he were their own child.
