Enemy Strike on Warehouses: “Fora” Chain Reveals Amount of Damage

On the night of August 5, a Russian missile attack on Kyiv destroyed the “Fora” chain’s warehouses for fresh produce and frozen goods and significantly damaged its shelving warehouse. As a result, the company lost significant inventory, equipment, machinery, and shelving systems. This was reported by “Fora” CEO Dmytro Filchenkov in an interview with “Forbes Ukraine,” according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to him, the losses incurred by the “Fora” supermarket chain, part of the Fozzy Group, due to the destruction of the warehouse and inventory are estimated at 1.15 billion hryvnia.
As he emphasized, to overcome the consequences of the attack, the company is diversifying its logistics system, specifically by switching some suppliers to direct deliveries to stores and utilizing other warehouses.
At present, “Fora” has no plans to reduce its workforce, but it is postponing the previously scheduled openings of new stores for the time being.
At the same time, the logistics structure of the “Badyoryi” chain, which is managed by “Fora,” was not affected, Filchenkov emphasized.
As Fozzy Group reported in a comment to “Suspilne,” the group plans to restore the usual product assortment in its stores by August 24.
As a reminder, on the night of August 5, a Russian attack caused fires at four Fozzy Group distribution centers that supplied goods to Silpo, “THRASH,” and Fora stores. Six company employees were killed in the incident.
