Media outlets have reported on the venue for the 2027 G20 summit

The G20 summit, scheduled for 2027, will be held in Manchester in the northwest of the United Kingdom. This was reported by The Times, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Next year, London will chair the G20.
“[The new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy] Burnham, informed [U.S. President Donald] Trump that next year’s G20 summit will take place in Manchester,” the publication states.
On July 20, Keir Starmer announced his resignation as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. On the same day, Andy Burnham, who previously served as mayor of Manchester, took office. King Charles III has already granted him the mandate to form a government.

The “Group of Twenty” (G20) is a global forum on economic issues. Its creation as a dialogue between developed and developing countries was a response to the emergence of a multipolar world. Initially, starting in 1999, the G20 functioned as a crisis-response mechanism in the financial sector, involving relevant ministers and central bank governors. The 2008 U.S. financial crisis, which threatened to destabilize the global economy, served as the basis for elevating the G20’s status to the leadership level.
The G20’s operating framework is based on collective governance of the forum through consensus and the equal participation of members in all its processes. In its current composition, taking into account the 2023 accession of the African Union, the G20 is composed of roughly equal numbers of countries from the West and the Global South/East, which account for 85% of global GDP, about 75% of international trade, and about two-thirds of the world’s population.
Individual countries are invited to G20 events at the chair’s discretion, taking into account various political and geographical considerations, as are international organizations—either as permanent partners or as needed (due to their specialized expertise).
