Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk remains one of the most successful athletes of our time, both in terms of athletic achievement and financial success. According to the analytical portal “Slovo i Dilo, ” his total purse earnings from his heavyweight bouts have reached record levels, and he received his largest payout—up to $132 million—for his rematch with Daniel Dubois in 2025, reports
As “Slovo i Dilo” notes, Usyk has fought nine bouts in the heavyweight division, and it was the rematches against Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, and Daniel Dubois that proved most lucrative for the Ukrainian boxer’s team.
Debut and First Titles in the Heavyweight Division
After moving up from cruiserweight in 2019, Usyk made his heavyweight debut against Chazz Witherspoon in Chicago. He earned $1.5 million for that fight.
In 2020, the Ukrainian earned $2.5 million for his victory over Derek Chisora, and in 2021, his fight against Anthony Joshua earned him $6.9 million and the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO championship belts.
Rematches as the Main Source of Income
Rematches have proven particularly lucrative. In the second fight against Joshua in 2022, Usyk’s team earned approximately $40 million.
The two bouts against Tyson Fury, which took place in Riyadh, also significantly boosted the boxer’s earnings—over $30 million in the first fight and over $105 million in the second.

Record-Breaking Purse
Usyk received the largest purse of his heavyweight career in 2025 for his rematch with Daniel Dubois in London—$132 million. As “Slovo i Dilo” points out, this fight was the most financially successful of his professional career.
In 2026, Usyk fought Rico Verhoeven in Giza, where he won by knockout and earned over $40 million. At the same time, his opponent filed an appeal regarding the outcome of the bout, claiming that the fight had been stopped prematurely.
