Due to the cold snap: Ukraine’s largest lavender field has been destroyed

Due to adverse weather conditions, Ukraine’s largest lavender field in the village of Vasylivka, Bolhrad District, Odesa Region, has been destroyed. Unfortunately, the plant’s roots could not withstand the frost, and the lavender bushes dried up. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to “Bessarabia INFORM.”
It should be noted that the lavender field in the heart of Bessarabia was planted back in 2019 and had become a favorite spot for photo shoots. Typically, during the lavender blooming season, from June to July, the field was visited by thousands of people.
As early as April 2026, the organizers announced the renaming of the project from “Lavender” to “Laviana Estate.” In addition, the updated page noted that a large number of lavender bushes had to be uprooted, leaving only 4 hectares of the field planted with the flower.
“We are no longer the largest lavender field in Ukraine… But for your beautiful photos, we have left 4 hectares of lavender, and this will be enough for photo locations,” the organizers said.
However, in early June, on the eve of the season’s opening, the organizers announced the death of the plants.
“We don’t know if the ‘Laviana Estate’ photo project will take place this year, but we are doing everything we can to revive the lavender field,” the project owners noted.
At the same time, the coordinators called for support for the project by purchasing eco-friendly artisanal products prepared for the 2026 season. The assortment includes essential oils, hydrosols, lavender honey, body care products, and scented home decor.
