Russia struck the “Yagotynske for Children” factory: there are casualties

Early on the morning of June 5, Russian occupation forces attacked the “Yagotynske for Children” food processing plant in the Brovary district of the Kyiv region. This was reported by the Kyiv region police, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Mykola Kalashnyk, and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

According to preliminary information, the Russian attack took place around 8:00 a.m. Enemy drones struck the food processing plant in the Brovary district.

The State Emergency Service released photos from the site of the strike. The images show that the premises of the “Yagotynske for Children” plant were damaged. The administrative building was hit hardest: a fire broke out there after the strike, and part of the structure collapsed.

According to Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, four people were killed as a result of the Russian strike on the facility.

Seven people are also known to have been injured. They are receiving the necessary medical care.

Information regarding the condition of the victims and the final extent of the damage is being clarified.

What is known about “Yagotynske for Children”

“Yagotynske for Children” is a company that is part of a group of companies engaged in the production and processing of dairy products. The group unites a number of well-known Ukrainian brands and factories, including:

  • Pyriatyn Cheese Factory,
  • Bashtanka Cheese Factory,
  • Zolotonosha Butter Plant,
  • Yagotyn Butter Plant.

A strike on such a facility constitutes an attack not only on civilian infrastructure but also on food production.

Police, rescue workers, and medical personnel are on the scene

Emergency services arrived at the scene following the attack on the facility. The following are on site:

  • investigative and operational teams,
  • State Emergency Service rescue workers,
  • medical personnel,
  • law enforcement officers from the Kyiv region.

Experts are documenting the aftermath of the strike, determining the exact circumstances of the attack, and recording the damage.

Kyiv Oblast is under constant attack

This is not the first strike on the region in the past 24 hours. The day before, on June 4, the Russians attacked Kyiv Oblast twice. In the Boryspil district, the Russian army launched repeated strikes on an infrastructure facility, where a fire broke out.

In addition, the Brovary district was also hit by kamikaze drones at that time. There, a gas supply pipe, a mobile crane, a company boiler room, a truck, an administrative building, and power lines were damaged.
