STATE BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION: More than 200 civil servants deprived of disability
14 February 2025 15:43
The State Bureau of Investigation said that more than 200 employees of state institutions were deprived of their disability following inspections.
This was reported in an interview with Podrobnitsy by Tetiana Sapian, a strategic communications adviser to the State Bureau of Investigation, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
We are talking about tax, customs, prosecutors and some law enforcement officers.
According to her, over the past 3 months, a number of officials have also had their disability groups changed and downgraded, which has affected their salaries.
Sapian noted that losses from fake disability per civil servant amount to UAH 100-200 thousand.
In addition, NV, citing its own sources, writes that 229 officials have already been deprived of their disability. Another 145 civil servants have had their disability group changed, and 58 have had their disability period changed. At the same time, 451 government employees were sent for further examination.
In total, the working group, which includes representatives of law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Health, is to check almost 3,000 officials. These employees will have to undergo medical and social commissions to prove their health problems and their right to receive social assistance.
In November, it was reported that the Ministry of Health, together with law enforcement agencies, was checking the decisions of medical and social expert commissions to establish disability for 1695 officials from more than 30 government agencies. Most of the cases concerned tax officials.
At the end of 2024, Health Minister Viktor Liashko reported that 188 people had had their disability decisions canceled, and another 388 had been summoned to a specialized research institute for a re-examination.
In October, law enforcement officers exposed the head of the Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC) in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, Tetiana Krupa, and her son Oleksandr Krupa, the head of the Oblast Pension Fund, for illegal enrichment of millions of dollars.
Later, Censor.NET wrote that law enforcement agencies in Khmelnytskyi Oblast knew about the large-scale corruption scheme of Tetiana Krupa, the head of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast Medical and Social Expertise Center, because they were accomplices in it. Thus, dozens of prosecutors, including the regional prosecutor, were able to obtain disability.
Against the backdrop of this scandal, law enforcement officers began checking Khmelnytskyi officials and MSEC employees. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the National Security and Defense Council had identified a list of decisions “that will bring justice.” A few minutes later, it became known that Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin had resigned.
It was decided to reform the MSEC – from January 2025, an assessment of a person’s daily functioning will be launched instead.
