The State Audit Service of Ukraine has released its initial findings regarding an audit of FirePoint’s contracts with the Defense Procurement Agency. This was reported in an interview with Glavkom by Alla Basalaeva, head of the State Audit Service of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

Currently, the defense enterprise is operating without violations or supply disruptions.

“Yes, we audited FirePoint’s contracts with the Defense Procurement Agency. What we found was that no deadlines have been missed, goods are being delivered, and payments are being made. Some of the contracts are to be fulfilled by 2028,” the head of the State Audit Service commented on the situation.

At the same time, she emphasized that the final results of the audits can only be discussed once they are completed.

As is known, FirePoint is one of the leading manufacturers of domestic defense technologies, including the “Flamingo” cruise missiles and UAVs.

According to registry data, Denis Shtilerman is the company’s majority owner (97.5% of shares) and its chief designer. Another 2.5% is owned by Yegor Skaliza.

In the media, the company has also long been linked to businessman Timur Mindich (co-owner of the “Kvartal 95” studio). The media reported that he allegedly attempted to lobby on behalf of the company at the Ministry of Defense, but FirePoint’s management denied reports that it had sold him a stake in the business.

Despite the weapons’ effectiveness on the front lines (which has been repeatedly confirmed by military experts and volunteers), a serious socio-political and media scandal has erupted around FirePoint. In particular, Denis Stilerman was accused of residing for an extended period in Russia, where he allegedly worked on command-and-control systems for the Russian Ministry of Defense, which led to him holding dual citizenship.

According to Stilerman himself, after supporting the Euromaidan, he was persecuted by the FSB, and in 2022 he returned to Ukraine full-time to establish a defense company.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) later confirmed that the designer does not have access to state secrets.

The company also came under scrutiny from anti-corruption authorities following a report in The New York Times.

FirePoint was accused of potentially overpricing batches of drones and monopolizing the defense procurement market.

Stilerman, for his part, complained that the actions of anti-corruption officials had led to a leak of the company’s confidential design documents.

Due to the large amounts of government funding and the strategic importance of the products, there were even calls in political circles to nationalize the company.
