The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rates for Tuesday, May 5, 2026. After a brief decline, the dollar rose again, while the euro, on the contrary, fell. This is evidenced by updated data from the National Bank of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Dollar exchange rate as of May 5
On Tuesday, May 5, the National Bank set the official dollar exchange rate at 1 U.S. dollar to 44.00 UAH.
Compared to Monday, the U.S. currency rose by 9 kopecks. The day before, on May 4, the official dollar exchange rate was 43.91 UAH.
On the cash market, the dollar, according to the data provided, remained unchanged at 43.75 UAH.
Euro exchange rate as of May 5
The European currency, on the other hand, fell in value on Tuesday. The official euro exchange rate on May 5 is 1 euro to 51.45 UAH.
Compared to the previous banking day, the euro lost 14 kopecks. On Monday, May 4, the exchange rate of the European currency was 51.59 UAH.

Zloty exchange rate on May 5
The Polish zloty also fell. The National Bank set the exchange rate at 1 Polish zloty to 12.08 UAH.
Compared to the previous day, the Polish currency depreciated by 4 kopecks.

What’s happening with the hryvnia
On May 5, the hryvnia showed mixed trends against major currencies. It weakened against the dollar, as the U.S. currency rose again to 44 UAH. At the same time, the hryvnia strengthened against the euro and the zloty.
Such fluctuations may be linked not only to the situation on the Ukrainian currency market but also to changes in the euro-dollar exchange rate on international markets. If the euro weakens against the dollar globally, this is often reflected in the official hryvnia exchange rate against the European currency.
