The dollar is trading at nearly 45 hryvnias: The NBU has raised the official exchange rate to a record high

The National Bank of Ukraine has once again raised the official exchange rate of the dollar against the hryvnia. As of Thursday, June 11, the U.S. currency is set at 44.97 hryvnia per dollar, marking a new all-time high. This is reported on the NBU’s official website, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

Compared to the previous day, the dollar rose by 13 kopecks. On Wednesday, June 10, the official exchange rate was 44.84 UAH per dollar.

According to updated data from the National Bank of Ukraine, the official dollar exchange rate for Thursday is:

  • 1 US dollar — 44.97 UAH

Thus, the US currency has nearly reached the psychological threshold of 45 hryvnias. The dollar’s rise is forcing Ukrainians to monitor the situation on the currency market more closely, as exchange rate fluctuations affect the prices of imported goods, fuel, appliances, and citizens’ savings.

What’s happening with the euro and the zloty

The official euro exchange rate as of June 11 remained unchanged and stands at:

  • 1 euro — 51.89 UAH.

The Polish zloty, on the other hand, has depreciated slightly. Its official exchange rate fell by 3 kopecks:

  • 1 Polish zloty — 12.21 UAH.

Thus, the main change of the day was the rise in the dollar, which hit a historic high against the hryvnia and nearly reached the 45 UAH mark.
