The State Border Guard Service has launched “My Account”: how to check travel restrictions
19 May 14:36
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has launched a new online service called “Personal Account, ” which allows citizens to check in real time whether there are any temporary restrictions on their ability to travel abroad. The service is available on the State Border Guard Service’s official website and covers restrictions imposed based on court decisions or rulings by the State Enforcement Service, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"
What restrictions can be checked
The State Border Guard Service emphasizes that the new service does not display all possible grounds for denying entry across the border, but specifically temporary restrictions related to court decisions or rulings by the State Enforcement Service.
Most often, such restrictions may relate to:
- child support debts;
- unpaid fines;
- other debt obligations;
- evasion of court rulings;
- orders of the State Enforcement Service.
According to Article 6 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Procedure for the Departure from and Entry into Ukraine of Ukrainian Citizens,” the right to leave the country may be temporarily restricted if a person evades the enforcement of a court decision or has child support arrears confirmed by the enforcement service.
What the service does not show
An important detail: “Personal Account” does not show restrictions related to martial law.
In other words, if a person wants to check whether they can leave Ukraine specifically due to the rules in effect during martial law, this service does not provide a complete answer.
Such issues are checked according to separate rules and depend on the person’s category, documents, and grounds for crossing the border.

How the State Border Guard Service’s “Personal Account” Works
The new service operates online and is accessible from any device—smartphone, tablet, or computer.
To check the information, you need to:
- Go to the official website of the State Border Guard Service.
- Go to the “Personal Account.”
- Log in using electronic identification tools.
- Wait for the automatic check in the State Border Guard Service databases.
- Receive the result in real time.
Registration is available via id.gov.ua, Diya.Signature, BankID, or KEP.

After verification, the system displays one of two statuses: “No restrictions” or “Temporary restriction in place.”
Why this is important
Previously, to obtain this information, citizens had to submit a written request to the State Border Guard Service’s Main Center for Processing Special Information. This could be done by mail or in person, but the response took several weeks.
Now the check is available online and takes significantly less time. This is especially important for people planning a trip abroad who want to ensure in advance that there are no judicial or enforcement restrictions against them.
The service does not lift the ban
The State Border Guard Service emphasizes: “Personal Account” only indicates the presence or absence of a temporary restriction. It does not automatically lift the ban.
If the system shows that a restriction exists, the person must contact the relevant authority—the court, enforcement service, or other institution that imposed the restriction—and resolve the issue in accordance with the law.
