Unstable weather is expected in Ukraine on Tuesday, May 19. At night, there will be brief showers in some areas, and during the day, precipitation and thunderstorms are forecast across the entire country. In the southern and most central regions, hail and squalls of 15–20 m/s are possible in some areas. This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to the forecast, unstable weather with brief showers and thunderstorms will persist in Ukraine from May 19–21, and on the afternoon of May 19, dangerous weather phenomena—hail and squalls of 15–20 m/s—are possible in most central and southern regions.
Where thunderstorms are expected on May 19
On Tuesday afternoon, short-lived rain and thunderstorms are forecast across Ukraine. Precipitation will be scattered at night, but atmospheric instability will intensify during the day.
The most unsettled weather is expected in:
- the southern regions;
- most central regions;
- certain areas where hail and squalls are possible.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, wind gusts during thunderstorms may reach 15–20 m/s.

What will the temperature be like in Ukraine
Despite the rain and thunderstorms, temperatures will remain fairly warm.
In most regions, temperatures are expected to be 11–16° at night and 21–26° during the day.
It will be warmest in eastern and northeastern Ukraine, where temperatures may rise to 29°. It will be cooler in the western regions: 7–12° at night and 18–23° during the day.
Wind and hazardous conditions
On May 19, the wind will be predominantly northwesterly, 5–10 m/s.
However, during thunderstorms in the southern and central regions, sudden gusts of up to 15–20 m/s are possible.
Such squalls may complicate traffic, damage tree branches, advertising structures, and power lines.
Weather in Kyiv on May 19
In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, Tuesday will be cloudy with some sunny intervals.
Short-lived rain and thunderstorms are expected during the day. The wind will be northwesterly, 5–10 m/s.
Temperatures across the region will range from 11–16° at night to 21–26° during the day. In Kyiv, temperatures are forecast to be 14–16° at night and 23–25° during the day.

Forecasters predict that unstable weather conditions will persist in Ukraine from May 19–21. Short-lived rain and thunderstorms will occur periodically in various regions.
On May 20, hail and squalls of 15–20 m/s are possible across Ukraine, except in the western regions. Nighttime temperatures will range from 9–16°, daytime temperatures from 21–28°, and in the west from 18–23°.
