Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in the United States on a working visit. The highlights of the trip will include talks with U.S. President Donald Trump, a meeting with representatives of the U.S. Senate, and participation in a farewell ceremony for Senator Lindsey Graham. The head of state announced his arrival in the U.S. in a Telegram post, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
The president announced that he has already arrived in the U.S. and is beginning a series of talks.
“I am already in the United States of America. On the agenda are meetings with President Trump, his team, and those who can support our defense. The number one priority is anti-ballistic defense and strategic cooperation with America. Peace must come closer,” wrote Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to the president, the main goal of the talks is to strengthen defense cooperation between Ukraine and the U.S., primarily in the field of missile defense.
A meeting with Donald Trump is scheduled in Washington
One of the key events of the visit will be Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s talks with U.S. President Donald Trump.
The parties are expected to discuss:
- military aid to Ukraine;
- the development of a strategic partnership;
- air and missile defense systems;
- sanctions policy toward Russia;
- further support for Ukraine.
Zelenskyy to Meet with 100 U.S. Senators
In addition to talks with Donald Trump, the President of Ukraine is scheduled to meet with members of the U.S. Senate.
According to The Hill, all 100 U.S. senators have been invited to meet with Zelenskyy.
It is expected that during the meeting, Zelenskyy will thank lawmakers for their support of Ukraine and discuss a new sanctions bill targeting Russia.
This format of a meeting is quite rare for foreign leaders and demonstrates the significant attention U.S. lawmakers are paying to the Ukrainian issue.

The President of Ukraine will attend a farewell ceremony for Lindsey Graham
During his visit, Zelenskyy will also attend a memorial service for Senator Lindsey Graham.
The president noted that, on behalf of the Ukrainian people, he will honor the memory of the American politician:
“Let us remember his efforts to promote security and freedom in the Euro-Atlantic region and other parts of the world.”
Lindsey Graham was one of the most active advocates for military aid to Ukraine among U.S. senators.
Benjamin Netanyahu will also arrive in Washington
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is also expected to be in Washington on the same day.
According to U.S. media reports, he is also scheduled to hold separate talks with President Donald Trump.

Zelenskyy’s visit to the U.S. comes amid active discussions in Congress regarding a new package of sanctions against Russia and further mechanisms to support Ukraine.
