Russia has again attacked a port in the Mykolaiv region: A Shahed drone damaged a civilian vessel

Russian occupation forces have once again attacked port infrastructure in the Mykolaiv region. A Shahed-type attack drone damaged a civilian vessel that was located on the grounds of one of the port facilities. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing a statement from Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Head Georgy Reshetilov.
According to preliminary information, no one was injured as a result of the strike. The extent of the damage to the vessel and the port infrastructure is being assessed.
Shahed Attacked Port Infrastructure
According to Georgy Reshetilov, the Russian military directed a strike drone at port infrastructure in the Mykolaiv region.
A civilian vessel was damaged as a result of the attack. The statement from the head of the Regional State Administration does not specify the name of the ship, its flag, the nature of its cargo, or its exact location.
Preliminary reports indicate there were no fatalities or injuries as a result of the evening strike.
This was not the first attack on ports in the past 24 hours
The evening strike was a continuation of a series of Russian attacks on port facilities in the Mykolaiv region on July 27.
On Sunday night, Russian forces had already attacked civilian merchant ships that had been blocked in ports in the Mykolaiv region since the start of the full-scale invasion and were not operating commercial voyages.
According to regional authorities, three civilian vessels were damaged during the early attacks. A 48-year-old man was killed, and another 50-year-old man was seriously injured.

According to reports from local media and the prosecutor’s office, Russian forces attacked port infrastructure in the Mykolaiv region several times on July 27.
Morning reports mentioned three damaged vessels. Following an evening strike, authorities announced that another civilian vessel had been damaged.
The prosecutor’s office reported that an investigation has been launched into the attacks on civilian targets. According to the office, Russian forces may have used Shahed-238 jet-powered drones in the attack.

Russia systematically targets civilian shipping
The Russian occupation army regularly attacks Ukrainian ports, grain terminals, warehouses, and civilian merchant ships.
Not only facilities in the Mykolaiv region are under attack, but also port infrastructure in the Odesa region. Earlier, Russia attacked a civilian vessel flying the Palau flag that was carrying nearly 2,800 metric tons of Ukrainian corn.
Such attacks pose a threat to crews, disrupt maritime routes, and could impact Ukrainian food exports.
The damaged ships have been blocked since 2022
Some of the vessels in the ports of the Mykolaiv region have been unable to set sail since the start of the full-scale war.
The ships were not conducting commercial operations and remained blocked in the ports. Despite this, they became targets of Russian attacks.
Ukrainian authorities emphasize that attacks on civilian vessels and port infrastructure require a proper assessment under international law.

Throughout July 27, Russian troops also attacked other areas of the Mykolaiv region.
In particular, “Molniya”-type drones struck the Snigurivka community in the Bashtanka district. Two people were reported wounded, and a retail establishment was damaged.
The Russians attacked the Ochakiv community with FPV drones.
