13 July 17:14
As a result of the Russian Federation’s massive attacks on the port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region, which took place on the nights of July 10–11 and July 11–12, 2026, Kernel’s terminals were damaged. Due to the extent of the damage, operations at the export terminal were forced to halt. This was reported on July 13, 2026, by Kernel’s press service, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
During the shelling, loading and unloading equipment, power lines, as well as grain silos and sunflower oil storage tanks were damaged. As a result, approximately 45,000 metric tons of wheat and 9,000 metric tons of sunflower oil were blocked, damaged, or lost. No company employees were injured, the press service noted.

Experts are currently conducting a technical assessment of the damage and the volume of lost products. The timeline for resuming terminal operations will depend on the results of the engineering audit and the speed at which the consequences of the attacks are addressed, the company clarified.

The company emphasizes that targeted strikes on port infrastructure pose a threat to global food security and international shipping. In particular, foreign vessels currently in the port being loaded are at risk during the shelling.

It should be noted that in early May, the Kernel terminal was also targeted by the Russian Federation. At that time, oil storage tanks were damaged. One of them was completely destroyed, and the facility’s production equipment and infrastructure were also damaged. More than 1,100 metric tons of oil leaked.
