HBO Max is coming to Ukraine: what the service will offer and how much the subscription will cost

The American streaming service HBO Max is preparing to launch in Ukraine. The platform has already presented the Ukrainian interface and tariffs, and its launch will be part of the global expansion of Warner Bros. Discovery, which plans to cover 100 markets by 2026. This is stated in a message on the service’s website, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Plans and tariffs for Ukrainian users
HBO Max offers two main plans:
- Standard – €7.99/month (≈400 UAH):
- viewing on 2 devices;
- up to 30 downloads for offline viewing.
- Premium – €9.99/month (≈500 UAH):
- watching on 4 devices;
- 4K UHD with Dolby Atmos support;
- up to 100 downloads for offline viewing.
Additionally, you can get access to Eurosport 1 and 2 sports content for €3/month (≈150 UAH).
Available devices and payment methods
The platform supports:
- mobile phones and tablets,
- tVs.
Payment is possible via: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, PayPal, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Samsung Checkout.
The exact launch date in Ukraine has not yet been announced.
Global expansion of HBO Max
This summer, Warner Bros. Discovery announced the launch of HBO Max in 12 new countries, including Albania, Armenia, Georgia, and Kazakhstan.
By 2026, the platform will be available in Germany, Italy, and the UK. The service offers a wide range of content:
- tV series: “Friends, The Last of Us, White Lotus;
- movies: the Harry Potter series;
- game content: Minecraft.
HBO Max is part of the media portfolio of Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns HBO, CNN, Discovery Channel and Warner Bros. film production. The launch of the service in Ukraine emphasizes the company’s intention to expand its global presence and compete with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney in the streaming content market.
