Iran has responded to U.S. proposals to end the war: Trump called the response unacceptable
11 May 06:12
Iran has conveyed its response to U.S. proposals for ending the war through intermediaries in Pakistan. U.S. President Donald Trump has rejected Tehran’s response to the American proposal to end the war. The BBC reported this, citing Iranian media, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to media reports, Tehran’s proposal includes an immediate end to the war on all fronts, an end to the U.S. naval blockade, and guarantees that there will be no further attacks on Iran.
The details of Iran’s response have not been made public. The U.S. has also not disclosed the details of its latest proposals to Tehran. However, Axios reported that the 14-point U.S. memorandum includes a commitment by Iran to a moratorium on uranium enrichment, U.S. agreement to lift sanctions and return billions of dollars in frozen Iranian funds, as well as the lifting by both sides of restrictions on transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s response to the American proposal to end the conflict.
“I just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘representatives.’ I don’t like it—it’s completely unacceptable,” he wrote on Truth Social.
At the same time, Trump did not provide any details about what the Iranian response contained.
Negotiations between the US and Iran and Trump’s announced blockade of the Strait of Hormuz
On April 11, trilateral talks between the US and Iran took place in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, mediated by Pakistan. Following the talks, US Vice President Vance stated that the parties had failed to reach an agreement on a lasting end to the war. The Iranian Foreign Ministry said at the time that this was hindered by disagreements on “two or three key issues.”
Following this, Trump announced that on April 13, the U.S. Navy would begin a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz because the negotiations with Iran had failed to resolve the issue of Iran’s abandonment of nuclear weapons. According to him, the U.S. military would intercept all vessels that had paid Iran a toll to pass through the strait.
He also warned Iran that if its military began attacking U.S. warships, the U.S. Navy would “send the Iranians to hell.”
On April 18, Iran announced that it was reinstating “strict control” over the Strait of Hormuz in response to the U.S. naval blockade.
On April 20, Trump stated that extending the two-week ceasefire with Iran was highly unlikely unless the parties reached an agreement by the April 22 deadline.
On the evening of April 21, Trump wrote on Truth Social that he was again postponing a strike on Iran. He stated that he was doing so at the request of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and also because the Iranian government is “seriously divided”—and the ceasefire would remain in effect until a “unified Iranian proposal” is submitted and negotiations are concluded “one way or another.” According to him, the U.S. military will continue the naval blockade of Iran.
Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB reported that Trump had unilaterally extended the ceasefire, while Iran rejected the U.S.-proposed terms for negotiations.
Earlier, the Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that the Iranian negotiating team had informed the American side that it would not travel to Islamabad for the talks and saw no prospects for participating in them.
Israeli and U.S. Military Operation Against Iran
On February 28, Israel attacked the Iranian capital, Tehran. Subsequently, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the U.S. military had launched a “major military operation” against Iran with the aim of “eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime.” He accused the Iranian government of “funding and training” militants in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Hamas in Palestine. According to him, the goal of the military operation is to “destroy Iran’s missile industry and navy,” as well as to “ensure that the world cannot be destabilized.”
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that it had launched missiles and drones toward Israel, as well as attacked U.S. military bases in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
