Head of SAPO knew that his deputy was leaking cases – ex-prosecutor Bronevytskyi

The leaks of materials from NABU/SAPO anti-corruption investigations, including the Midas case, could have been completely prevented back in 2024, when the systemic leaks by Deputy Head of the SAPO Andriy Sinyuk were reported to the leadership of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. However, the head of the SAPO did not take any action then.

Stanislav Bronevytskyi, a lawyer and former prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, told this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian" to .

He claims that information leaks from the SAPO began long before the Mindich tapes appeared. Detectives and prosecutors have repeatedly recorded situations when the defendants were ready for searches, changed their phones, took out documents or even re-registered property to relatives in advance.

The lawyer said that he personally informed the SAPO leadership of suspicions against Sinyuk, the deputy head of the prosecutor’s office, who had access to all proceedings and regularly “inquired” about the details of the investigation, and the defendants then appeared to be fully prepared for investigative actions.

“Everyone was talking about this prosecutor (Sinyuk – ed.), including me, who personally reported to the head that your deputy was leaking cases. If there had been a proper reaction in the spring of 2024, when we talked about it, he would have been gone by now. And, accordingly, there would be no leaks in these tapes in the case of embezzlement or not embezzlement of Energoatom. Because there would be no person who could do that,” he said.

He also noted that the SAPO leadership ignored requests for an internal audit, although there were already signs of leaks, including a “merged” search in the Kharkiv Regional Administrative Office and suspects being prepared for arrest.

As you know, UP journalists recorded that Sinyuk repeatedly met with lawyer Oleksiy Meniv, a man who lives or regularly visited Timur Mindich’s house at 9-A Hrushevskoho Street. In particular, on August 27 and 28 and October 1, 2025, Sinyuk met with him.

on November 21, it became known that Sinyuk was dismissed from the SAPO. In addition, “an internal investigation was initially opened against the prosecutor,” Radio NV reported .

Later, commenting on his dismissal, Sinyuk said that he had done so of his own free will.

“In order to avoid any speculation about my possible influence on the course of the official investigation and the results, I decided to resign of my own free will,” Sinyuk said in a comment toSuspilne.
