Kyiv Launches a QR Ticket with Unlimited Transfers: What Are the Terms?

Starting August 1, a transfer QR ticket will be available in the Kyiv Digital app and at ticket vending machines. With this ticket, passengers will be able to make an unlimited number of transfers between different modes of public transportation within 90 minutes of the first validation. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).
The new ticket simplifies travel around the city and makes using public transportation even more convenient. This was announced by Valentin Mondriyevsky, deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration.
“The transfer ticket is a solution that works in many European capitals and is the standard for modern public transportation. We are consistently implementing the best practices of progressive cities in Kyiv to make public transportation as convenient as possible for passengers. A single ticket that allows passengers to transfer freely between different modes of transportation makes daily trips simpler and more comfortable,” notes Valentin Mondriyevskyi.
The transfer QR ticket can be used on the metro, buses, trolleybuses, trams, and the funicular. It costs 60 hryvnias. After purchase, the ticket remains valid in the app for 15 days, and the countdown begins only after the first validation. For the next 90 minutes, passengers can make an unlimited number of transfers by revalidating the same QR ticket on each vehicle or at the metro turnstile.
