A ticket for 1 euro: SkyUp launches a charity program for Ukrainian military personnel

The Ukrainian airline SkyUp Airlines has announced the launch of a special program called “Wings of Gratitude,” aimed at supporting Ukrainian military personnel. As part of the initiative, passengers with combatant status (UB) will be able to purchase tickets for scheduled flights at a nominal price.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the airline’s official representative.

Under the program’s terms, the cost of a flight for veterans will be just 1 euro plus airport fees. The special fare will apply to all of the airline’s regular routes.

Key terms of the “Wings of Gratitude” program:

On every SkyUp scheduled flight, subject to seat availability, up to 4 tickets will be available for booking under this program. The airline has also taken into account the specific nature of military service. In the event of a change in a passenger’s circumstances (providing an official order changing vacation dates or a medical certificate), SkyUp will reschedule the flight dates free of charge.

As is known, SkyUp managed to save its fleet by evacuating nearly all its aircraft from Ukraine at the start of the full-scale invasion. Due to the closure of Ukraine’s airspace, the company completely changed its business model. The fleet was relocated to Europe, and SkyUp shifted its focus to wet leasing (ACMI contracts), operating flights for other global airlines

The airline’s main hub is currently located in Chisinau (Moldova). From there, the company’s aircraft operate regular flights to more than a dozen European cities, including Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante, Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Paris, Nice (France), Lisbon (Portugal), Athens, Thessaloniki (Greece), Larnaca (Cyprus), and resort cities in Turkey (Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman), and Egypt.

SkyUp Airlines is a 100% privately owned Ukrainian family business. The company was founded in June 2017 by the Alba family (Yuriy Alba and his son Oleksandr), who previously owned Join UP!—one of Ukraine’s largest tour operators.
