Russia’s summer offensive has already begun: the military told what to expect

Russia continues to fight, despite its peaceful rhetoric. The Ukrainian military warns that it is not time to believe in illusions. This was stated by Pavlo Shamshyn, spokesman for the Kharkiv military unit, during a telethon, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The overall situation in the area of responsibility of the Kharkiv operational and tactical group of troops, although it has not changed significantly recently, remains difficult.
“Yes, Vovchansk, in general, the Vovchansk section of the front remains one of the hottest in our area of responsibility. Enemy attacks take place there almost every day,” he said.
He noted that in the area of Lybtsi the enemy launched an assault using armored vehicles, including tanks. Traditionally, they also use motorcycles.
“We all see that the Russians are amassing forces and the enemy’s summer offensive campaign has actually begun. I would not expect any truce in the near future,” he said.
According to him, when the Russians previously declared a unilateral Easter truce or a truce in honor of the parade, there was no lull at the front.
“On the contrary, the Russians, as a rule, intensified their assault actions. And, in fact, we are seeing this now. That is, we can’t expect them to stop and say: “That’s it, we want peace”. Well, I, for one, have no such illusions. And neither do many Ukrainian soldiers,” said the spokesman for the OTU “Kharkiv”.
Answering the question whether something has changed in the enemy’s mind in connection with talks about a 30-day truce, the events in Istanbul, and the negotiations, Shamshyn said:
“I would not dive into what they say on the other side. When we deal with Russians, we need to understand a few things: Russians always lie in public space. If they don’t lie, they manipulate. If they are not manipulating, they are going to lie. We have to take all their statements as such.”
He emphasized that the talks about alleged participation in the negotiations are obvious to everyone that they are imitations.
“Everyone has seen the delegation they sent to Istanbul – these are ‘know-nothings’. It should not be taken seriously,” he added.
