The Odesa region will be one of the first regions to test the “Electronic Border Crossing Queue” (“eCherga”) system for passenger cars,Deputy Prime Minister for Ukraine’s Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba announced during the Transport Forum in Odesa, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

“The next step is to launch the service for passenger cars. And Odesa Oblast will serve as the testing ground for this solution,” Kuleba wrote.

According to him, work is also underway to update the “eCherga” system to streamline traffic priorities, particularly for companies with authorized economic operator status.

Among other things, the focus is on the development of an electronic consignment note, where the ministry is working with the business community to scale it up.

Separately, Kuleba also invited businesses, investors, and international partners to join in the development of Ukraine’s transport and logistics infrastructure.

“Today, we are shaping a new vision for the development of the Odesa region as one of the key logistics hubs of the country and the Black Sea region,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

As previously reported, the launch of “eChergy” for passenger cars is planned for June of this year, and it will be available to both Ukrainians and foreigners.

It was noted at the time that signing up for the queue to cross the border by passenger car will be available through the “Diya” app, the website, and the “eQueue” mobile app.

The Ministry of Development, in turn, previously reported in a press release that the service would initially be tested at selected border crossing points, and Deputy Minister Serhiy Derkach clarified to the agency in Brussels in April that the launch would begin at a single pilot border crossing point.
